On August 24th, 2004 around 4PM, my daughter Hannah and I were startled by the sound of an impact downstairs. I went out to investigate, and found 2 young bighorn sheep standing right next to the house. They weren't at all afraid of me, but they did eventually retreat, and circled around the house. I took pictures of the sheep as they moved around the hillside. They spent probably 20 minutes eating and resting about 50 feet away from our deck, then meandered up the hill.

We live at 906 Arkansas Mountain Rd. in Sugar Loaf. This is certainly our first encounter with bighorn sheep in the Boulder area.
